A few weeks ago on the show we were talking about getting your five portions of fruit and veg a day.
I worked out how many portions I was having and was alarmed to discover on average it was only one or maybe two at best.
I decided I really needed to do something about this and I’m pleased to say I’m now on about five or six portions every day. For lunch I normally eat a carrot, some cucumber, tomatoes and raw mushrooms.
In the evening I have an apple and a satsuma after my meal. But I fear I’ve become a portion bore, always counting up my intake.
And I’m still trying to convince my kids to feel the love for raw mushrooms and carrots – a battle I may not win.
