Keep a sense of perspective when out Christmas shopping

New commercial life is sprouting in Copnor Road

VERITY LUSH: Green shoots of recovery sprouting in northern Portsmouth

Have your say

It’s that time of year when everyone goes mad for a bit of shopping.

I’m with the majority of men on this one though – I can’t stand it.

There aren’t many things in life more soul-destroying than going from shop to shop with the missus as she keeps looking in ‘just one more’ store.

It feels like a little bit of me dies inside every time.

But however bad it seems, it’s important to retain a sense of perspective when being dragged round city centres.

This week I read about Tao Hsiao, 38 and from China, who took his frustration to a whole new level when out shopping with his other half.

After five hours he could take no more and took a dive off the seventh floor balcony of a shopping mall.
