Koli thought nail varnish was okay - and I didn’t dare argue

Child refugees: more cash is needed from the government

COMMENT: Government needs to dig deep to find extra cash

Have your say

What’s your take on boys wearing nail varnish?

We’ve had family over for the past few days, all girls – so there’ve been lots of make-up orientated activities.

Little Jack (aged three) has been caught up in the whole furore, so much so he’s proudly insisted on having his podgy little digits daubed in mermaid scale green.

Having not grown up wearing any form of make-up, I was a little unsure.

But then I remembered my 22-stone (5 XL jacket size) Tongan international rugby-playing friend Koli who would regularly paint his fingers and toes a kaleidoscope of colours.

‘It’s colourful bro, it’s more interesting than plain old skin colour eh?’ he’d say. And who was going to argue?
