After 18-months of fundraising efforts, leading regional law firm Coffin Mew has raised £12,000 for local charity Naomi House and Jacksplace.

Naomi House and Jacksplace, near Winchester, are hospices for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

With less than 10 per cent of income coming from the government and other statutory bodies, it relies on the generosity of the local community to continue its work.

Inspired by this, Coffin Mew, which has offices in Gosport and Portsmouth, has spent the past year-and-a-half hosting charitable activities to benefit Naomi House and Jacksplace.

Just one quiz for local businesses netted more than £2,000.

The firm also ran a netball tournament, office tuck shop and a concert.

They even held a partners’ breakfast, where Coffin Mew’s partners cooked for their employees.

Charlotte Otter, trusts and major gifts fundraiser at Naomi House, said: ‘Working with Coffin Mew is a stand-out example of how a charity partnership can and should look.

‘The team at Coffin Mew take the time to get under the skin of Naomi House and Jacksplace, to understand everything about our charity, and to provide a tailored package of support that makes a huge difference to hundreds of children, young people and families from across the south.

‘Our successful partnership with Coffin Mew has already raised more than £12,000 and allowed us to benefit from expert legal advice and fantastic networking opportunities.

‘We remain incredibly grateful to the whole Coffin Mew team for all they do in support of local life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their families.’

Annabelle Vaughan, a partner at Coffin Mew, added: ‘When we toured the hospice we were struck by the ability of the team to provide high quality care in a fun and homely environment.

‘We have seen Naomi House transform itself over the past 18 months.’
