Let us know what you’re doing for Heroes Day

STEVE CANAVAN: My condition is a right old pain in the neck

Have your say

We’re delighted to be supporting Heroes Day – an idea which inspired us instantly and which, I’m sure, will get a huge response from readers.

To be held very appropriately on Trafalgar Day, it’s the latest way to raise money for Help for Heroes in memory of Marine Richard Hollington.

Richard, from Steep near Petersfield, died last year after a roadside explosion in Afghanistan.

Since then his family and friends have worked tirelessly to raise money in his memory.

The Heroes Day idea – in which people will be encouraged to dress as their heroes to raise money on October 21 – is the brainchild of Richard’s mate Danny Glavin.

If you’ve not already signed up, then please support this terrific venture by registering at heroesday.org.uk .

We want to feature as many participants as possible, so contact us at newsdesk@thenews.co.uk or ring reporter Jeff Travis on (023) 9249 2444.
