Literature quiz demonstrated the children’s love of books

Congratulations to all the children who took part in the Portsmouth schools literature quiz held last Friday.

I was lucky enough to be invited along as a bonus author, joining other more established names such as Andrew Norris, Miriam Halahmy, Andy Briggs and Ali Sparkes to compete against children in a quiz about kids’ literature.

The event, organised by the School Library Service and hosted by St John’s College, really showcased the amazing children who took part and their love of, and knowledge about, books.

In fact, the children did better than the more ‘experienced’ contestants in several ways – particularly in spotting visual clues to book titles. Well done to all those who were involved.
