Lou: Let’s start a revolution and put hats on Xmas lists

Child refugees: more cash is needed from the government

COMMENT: Government needs to dig deep to find extra cash

Have your say

Last week Jez and I wore hats to work in support of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

It got me thinking that people really don’t wear enough hats these days.

For hundreds of years hats were the thing to be seen in and fashions changed constantly, from top hats to bowler hats, cloche hats to straw boaters.

So when did it all go wrong? Why do we only wear hats these days if it’s incredibly cold outside, if you’re going to a wedding, or if you work in a kitchen or on a building site?

People feel self-conscious when wearing hats and I think that’s a great shame.

Let’s start a hat revolution and bring them back into mainstream fashion by all putting hats on our Christmas lists.
