COMMENT: Government needs to dig deep to find extra cash

Have your say

I’m moving in a couple of weeks and my boyfriend and I have been thinking about introducing ourselves to the neighbours. Obviously we want to say hi and get to know the people living next door. The problem is, how many doors do you knock on?

We’re moving to a road of 68 houses so obviously we can’t go and greet everyone. Do we just visit the neighbours either side of us and leave it at that, or should we go farther down the road? And once we’re fully moved in should we invite them around for tea, offer to feed the cat and babysit the kids? It’s a minefield. Who knew neighbourly etiquette could be so complicated.

Maybe I’ll wait for them to knock on my door, a much less stressful idea.
