Make the effort to take part in commemoration activities

VERITY LUSH: Green shoots of recovery sprouting in northern Portsmouth

Have your say

A few weeks back I talked about D-Day, the 70th anniversary activities which are going on locally and how we should find out about the places where we live and how they played a part.

This week I came across a leaflet detailing Gosport’s activities and I thought I’d mention a couple of those for people in Portsmouth who might like to make the trip across the harbour to the embarkation point of Stokes Bay.

One is a Hampshire Music Service and Bay House School commemorative concert (June 7, tickets from Gosport Information Centre), and the other, on June 3, is a flypast at 6.30pm of WWII aircraft (head to Lee-on-the-Solent for the best view).

Go on, make the effort – you know you want to.
