Me and the royals: we’re now so close I feel part of them

VERITY LUSH: Green shoots of recovery sprouting in northern Portsmouth

Have your say

I’m back making another royal documentary. I know, it’s the fifth or sixth one I’ve done! I don’t know what it is about me, but for some reason I keep getting asked to make royal programmes.

This time it’s kind of my fault because I suggested the idea; they took it to the distributor and bam we’re in production again.

This time I’m producing/directing it for a Southampton media firm which is a treat because it only means a short M27 commute rather than a lengthy taxi, train and bus journey to London.

The funny thing is, when putting the show together and writing the script I’m annotating the archive without actually seeing it because I know almost word for word what the royals have been up too, when, and practically what they said.
