Morrissey is no fan of Gaga

COMMENT: University has to prove it offers value for money

Have your say

Morrissey has branded Lady Gaga’s provocative performances as ‘fraudulent’.

The former Smiths singer claimed that he doesn’t find artists like Lady Gaga ground-breaking or different from other musicians.

Oh, to go back to the heady days of daffodils hanging out of your back pocket!

Dave Stewart has revealed that Mick Jagger thought that the idea of creating a group with other talented artists was ‘mad’. The Rolling Stones frontman – who has now joined eclectic band SuperHeavy with musicians including Eurythmics star Stewart, Joss Stone, Bob Marley’s son Damian and award-winning Indian musician and producer A.R. Rahman – decided to form the band after their ‘amazing’ jamming session together.

So Nicole Scherzinger’s dad has said his daughter and Lewis Hamilton are engaged. He has said that ‘their relationship is based on jets and huge phone bills’. Yeah? So is mine. Me and my other half spend most of our lives on hold to the Easyjet helpline!

Beady Eye have recorded a version of classic ballad Blue Moon in honour of frontman Liam Gallagher’s favourite team. The band agreed to help bosses at Manchester City launch the squad’s new kit by shooting an online commercial.

Now I wonder if Mike Oldfield is feeling charitable to help out at Fratton Park?

One of the best tunes I’ve heard this year has to be the new single by Will Young. Yes, you read that right. It’s 10 years ago this month since he took part in his first Pop Idol auditions and Jealousy is the first single to be taken off the new album, Echoes, which is out on August 22.

Will, who is now 32, has been independent in his way of thinking since the early days and has teamed up with dance producer Richard X – a collaboration which would have been almost unthinkable a decade ago.

The single, Jealousy, which is released the day before the album, is co-written with Kish Mauve who penned Kylie Minogue’s All The Lovers.

Finally this week, Beyonce’s father Mathew Knowles has criticized the handling of the release of his daughter’s new album, 4, saying he thinks there are too many people who have a stake in her career, and Blink-182 have announced the title and release date for their sixth studio album. The band have named their new record Neighbourhoods and will release the LP on September 27.
