Mum’s learned lesson about asking for a second opinion

COMMENT: All agencies must to held to account for Anne Savidge’s tragic death

Have your say

My mum went in for a small operation this week to remove a suspicious-looking mole on her leg.

Her doctor had originally told her it was nothing to worry about. On her next visit, that doctor was on leave.

The locum didn’t like the look of it and within a couple of months she was in having it whipped out.

Now my mum’s the kind of person not to question. She’d never ask for a second opinion. But Lady Luck was looking out for mum and hopefully now she’s learned an important lesson.

She’s unable to drive for a few weeks. Don’t think she saw the funny side when I asked if she was old enough for a bus pass!
