LESLEY KEATING: A white-knuckle pursuit ending with a lesson in trust

Have your say

RIP Sir Jimmy Saville.

He was a great British eccentric and summed up the bulldog spirit.

You may remember him for his radio shows, for Jim’ll Fix It or through his dedicated charity work.

Did you know he raised more than £40m for Stoke Mandeville Hospital and was a close friend of Prince Charles?

He ran marathons well into his sixties and was the first and last presenter of Top of the Pops.

Like many of the greats, he will leave a great legacy of catchphrases.

Say ‘now then, now then’ and everyone will know who you are talking about.

I bet you can’t say ‘showaddywaddy’ without sounding like him! A true great.
