Onions – and why not... ?

Child refugees: more cash is needed from the government

COMMENT: Government needs to dig deep to find extra cash

Have your say

Of all the celebrity-endorsed products you can buy, I think I’ve found the most bizarre – Barry Norman’s pickled onions.

For one thing, the veteran former host of the BBC’s Film 72-Film 98 review show isn’t exactly a celebrity any more.

He is now 80 and hasn’t presented anything on TV for ages.

But also, why on earth did he go for pickled onions?

What possible connection can the grand old man of TV film reviewing have with pickled onions?

It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

It would be like the former Grandstand presenter Steve Rider bringing out his own sauerkraut. Quite mad.
