It’s becoming a bit of an annual tradition that somewhere between January and March I lose my running mojo.

I was a bit poorly in January and a bit injured, so even though I kept on running far and fast right up until the final day of 2013, I’ve lost my way a bit.

So as a way of getting myself inspired I wandered down to Southsea on a chilly Saturday morning to help out with the Parkrun there.

It’s brilliant – each week runners meet up to take part in a 5km race. The aim is to beat their time from the previous week.

They take place all over the area, are free and run entirely by volunteers.
