Have your say

I didn’t think I would enjoy the ITV drama Cilla, charting the rise to fame of Cilla Black.

But after catching the first episode by accident, I was hooked.

Cilla is celebrating 50 years since the release of her first track, a song written by Lennon and McCartney.

I didn’t realise she was such good friends with The Beatles and even performed with them in The Cavern.

The drama recalled her enduring love for hubby Bobbie Willis and her recording of the superb Bacharach-penned Anyone Who Had A Heart.

Best of all was the performance of Sheridan Smith. Not only a superb actress, she also sang every song herself. She has one heck of a voice.
