Mark Chamberlain, former Pompey and England winger and father of Arsenal and England player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, must be so proud to see his son progress so far at such a young age.

We fans are really excited too at this local talent achieving so much. It’s great for anyone else with kids aspiring to be top footballers.

On Sunday Alex scored a ‘worldie’ for England against Brazil in the wonderful Maracanã stadium.

What did Mark think? He missed it! Apparently he’d fallen asleep watching the game.

It’s been my favourite story of the week. Don’t worry Mark, I also nodded off during the first half. I just hope you’ve got Sky+!
