Rain is no good if it stops me from enjoying green garden

Have your say

What is going on with this weather?

If one more person tells me that it is good for the garden I am likely to bop them on the nose.

And that’s because while I am an enthusiastic gardener, I am not a very good one.

My garden is not a year-round thing, it’s a bloom in June fiesta. You have to be in it at exactly the right time to be able to enjoy it properly. It has a small window of colour opportunity, like a firework shining brightly for such a small amount of time and that’s happening right now, while I’m stuck inside looking through the rain drenched glass.

At least we haven’t suffered the fate of West Sussex and its sewer drains spewing forth across gardens – but it does make me wonder, is that good for the grass?
