Sat nav that sent tourist to the wrong Windsor Castle

VERITY LUSH: Spending squillions to point out the blindingly obvious

Have your say

I’ve never trusted sat navs. I hate the way the infernal things always think they know best even when they take you the wrong way.

I used one recently to get to somewhere in London and ended up going round in circles because of the dodgy commands coming out of the annoying gizmo stuck on the windscreen.

So I had to smile when I read that an American woman used her sat nav when she set off from a hotel in Bath to see Windsor Castle – and ended up 120 miles away from her intended destination, in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset at a pub called The Windsor Castle.

Apparently, bar staff were somewhat surprised when she wandered in and asked where the Queen was.

Sat nav? I’d rather stick to a map.
