LESLEY KEATING: A white-knuckle pursuit ending with a lesson in trust

Have your say

I had lunch with chef Marco Pierre White last week.

I was half expecting him to be moody and brooding, as his demeanour suggests. But no, he was such a nice man.

We were on board the recently-refurbished cruise ship Oriana and, as passengers boarded for an amazing world cruise, Marco prepared us a stunning meal.

While the journalists present made their notes, this lazy radio presenter did his interview, then scoffed his steak.

It’s not a bad job sometimes and it makes up for working all over Christmas. It was lovely being back on the ship on which we got engaged last September. There was certainly a spot of envy as she slipped her mooring and made for Australia.
