Show creates the same fear as watching scary movies

Have your say

Hooray, Fear Factor is back on our screens on Channel Five, with couples competing in disgusting stunts in order to win a cash prize.

I say disgusting because they often involve eating animal parts like eyeballs, kidneys and testicles.

It produces in me the same fear I had as a child watching scary movies – hands-in-front-of-the-face, tell-me-when-it’s-over moments.

The couples are themed each week, such as real couples, exes, siblings or best friends.

Alas, my husband and I are far too old to enter. But he did suggest that we could compete in a bad-back Fear Factor where one stunt would be bending over and putting on a pair of socks.

At our age, that’s as hard as eating sheep brains.
