RICK JACKSON: Girl power rules – at the age of two

Have your say

Okay, I admit it. I’m using this part of the column as a note to myself – a to-do list, if you like, but with only one thing on it.

After reading yet again about spiralling gas and electricity prices, and after seeing my direct debits increase at a faster pace than my children run when I say ‘nit check’, I’m determined to shop around for a better deal.

Apparently Energy Secretary Chris Huhne has said the public is lazy about doing this, spending more time looking for a better deal on a £25 toaster than for £1,000 annual power bill.

Ye gads, if I’m anything to go by, the man is right. Too many of us don’t put the effort in to find a cheaper supplier.

Hopefully by writing it here, I’ll be spurred into action.
