Stop and think how the driver of the bus must be feeling

Have your say

Another double-decker bus loses its roof trying to go under a railway bridge in Portchester. It’s the second time this has happened in five months.

But amid all the finger-pointing, I’d like to ask people to stop and think how the driver must be feeling.

Taken to hospital with extreme shock, can you possibly imagine what it must have been like for him, knowing what had just happened?

My belief is that the driver simply forgot he was in a double-decker (single deckers also use that route).

I know that might sound sound silly, but I’ve driven a bus and I reckon it’s quite possible.

Sometimes you can forget which route you are on and just go into auto mode.
