Have your say

Did you watch Choosing To Die on the TV on Monday evening? This very moving programme showed 71-year-old Peter Smedley, who was suffering from motor neurone disease, take his own life in Switzerland.

Surely if we know we have a terminal decease, it is our right to decide whether we want to go, rather than be ravaged by the disease and still kept alive.

Surely it is a basic human right.

Why should people who are suffering have to travel to Switzerland to do this?

Animals are ‘put out of their misery’. Although we are not animals, we should be able to decide if we want to end our own misery. Good on the BBC for highlighting this.
