The big news in the sporting world this week is that the World Stone Skimming Championship may not go ahead.
A row between the land owner and the organisers has apparently put the competition in jeopardy.
Jonathan Feigenbaum, who owns the disused quarry in which the event is due to take place, wants to charge for its use.
Have the organisers not thought to take the competition elsewhere?
I really can’t imagine that working out how to ferry a few trophies, a plate of cheese sandwiches and a selection of stones to a new venue will take much doing.
And it’s hardly as if there’s going to be a stampede of people going to watch a few people chucking stones into the water!
