Sweets banned in new motor

Have your say

I have a new car and it really was about time.

I’d broken down at the side of the road one too many times and it was time to put my old metal friend to rest.

So, for the past few weeks I’ve visited what seems like every second-hand car dealer in Hampshire.

And I have also trawled the internet to find people who want to say goodbye to their once-loved family runaround.

It seemed to take forever, but finally I found what will, hopefully, be my reliable car for many years to come.

It was a pleasure to get into a clean car.

Although second-hand, it had been kept very tidy which left me wondering how long it would stay like that.

With two daughters aged four and six, the answer will probably be ‘not for very long’.

But I am now enforcing the rule that has always been in place but not always stuck to.

That is: no sweets, ice creams, crisps, drinks and the like allowed to be consumed in the car.

Sadly that rule will apply to me too.
