Have your say

What have a big toy tiger, an exotic-looking caterpillar, an Avro Vulcan bomber and a pair of tawny owls got in common?

Well done if you got the answer straight away –they have all been subjects of readers’ pictures published in The News over the past week.

Every day on page 7 we feature under the title Your View a picture taken by a reader.

Interest has grown and grown since we started the feature and there is healthy competition for the daily slot.

The photographs we receive are many and varied and I know that a lot of readers turn to the spot each day to see the latest picture.

None more so than Mrs B Moir of Kenwood Road in Portchester, who was kind enough to write to say how much she enjoyed the feature – and particularly the photograph published on May 30.

‘Wow!’ she said. ‘Another colourful and interesting picture, published on page 7 of The News today. Colourful yachts and tranquil scenery – your reader Mr Yalden captured a picture suitable to be framed.

‘All photographs published on this page – from woodland bluebells to a solitary robin – are delightful, artistic and from talented photographers.

‘Some hold that magic, captured at the special moment, to be held and appreciated. Many thanks – I look forward to more.’

It’s easy to put your own photographs forward for inclusion in our daily feature. Simply send them by email to and please ensure that you include your name and postal address as well as a brief description of the subject.

We’ve got some glorious summer days coming up – perfect weather for taking pictures, so I hope even more readers get snapping.
