The price we women pay for trying to appear beautiful

Surely, holding a door open for a member of either sex is just good manners?

LESLEY KEATING: Would you dare hold a door open for a woman?

Have your say

Being happy with oneself is a constant battle. I’ve tried every diet going hoping one day I’ll look in the mirror and be content.

I don’t think women were born with that ability and listening to the rumours surrounding Renée Zellweger’s alleged plastic surgery, I see it doesn’t matter who you are, one is never completely happy.

Renee, most famous for her Bridget Jones role, appeared in LA looking noticeably different. I had to look twice.

She’s refusing to comment about the transformation, but you can see she’s had a vast amount of work done.

Fair play if it makes her happy. I just feel sad there’s so much pressure on us to look beautiful that she would go to these extreme lengths.

I just hope she’s happier for it.
