LESLEY KEATING: A white-knuckle pursuit ending with a lesson in trust

Have your say

Ever since last year’s Olympics and Tour de France, there’s been an increase in the number of Bradley Wiggins wannabes on the streets.

They’re a terrible nuisance to drivers. But I had to laugh the other day though.

Picture the scene. I was driving along the road and up in front were two cyclists.

One was in full Lycra and aerodynamic helmet, riding an expensive racing bike.

The other, who was in front, was a workman in hi-vis jacket and heavy boots, smoking a rollie.

Wiggins wannabe put his head down, sped past the builder and eased himself around a roundabout.

The workman, on a battered mountain bike, came to the roundabout and then did a wheelie all the way round. Take that Mr Racer!
