Turns out it really is a dog’s life for some pampered pets

Surely, holding a door open for a member of either sex is just good manners?

LESLEY KEATING: Would you dare hold a door open for a woman?

Have your say

I’ve always felt that our dogs Harvey and Ruby lead a privileged life.

Comfy beds in the kitchen at night, plenty of cuddles from us and loads of exercise.

But it seems after hearing some stories on the breakfast show this week, they are decidedly neglected.

One lady cannot sleep unless her dog is in bed with her. A Yorkshire Terrier has a wardrobe full of clothes and apparently the dog won’t go out in the rain unless the owner protects it with an umbrella.

My favourite story was from a lady who feeds her dog steak and kidney pies – with a fork!

Remember people, dogs are pack animals and we are leaders of the pack, not the runt of the litter.
