Watching Felix jump was just like cooking a roast dinner

It’s important the parade continues – but safely

Have your say

How cool was it to watch Felix Baumgartner jump from the edge of space?

It reminded me of cooking a roast dinner. All that work and anticipation and careful timing with a check list, all to be over in the space of about four minutes.

That man is impressively endowed in the courage stakes (though could he make the perfect roast potato?).

To move off that step, looking down 24 miles and know you are about to hurtle through it, must take either someone slightly insane or ridiculously brave.

Either way, I suspect that we’ll see more of Felix.

As he’s achieved his dream relatively early (he’s 43), he’s bound to have another plan up his sleeve.

Because he just doesn’t do boring.
