We are in for a rough ride, but we must remain united

We’re in a continuing state of instability with those at the top politically quitting left, right and centre – which I find amazing considering some of them were part of the campaign to leave the EU.

Have you seen the Sky News interview with actor Christoph Waltz, who stars in the upcoming film Tarzan?

He gives his opinion on Brexit and what’s been happening with our country over the past couple of weeks.

You really must watch it, regardless of whether you are a ‘remainer’ or a ‘leaver’ I think you’ll appreciate his honesty.

In the interview he condemns Nigel Farage for standing down as Ukip leader and not taking responsibility for the consequences of a Brexit vote, labelling him the ‘head rat’.

A lot of people who were in the ‘leave’ camp will still be feeling badly let down by Boris Johnson’s withdrawal from the Conservative leadership race and then Farage quitting.

Personally, I think that it’s pretty cowardly on their part.

Leading such a vigorous campaign to steer the country a certain way and then upping and leaving before the true fight begins?

That interview with Christoph Waltz really does sum it up for me.

Honestly, disappointing doesn’t begin to cover it.

What with the Chilcot report coming out with a damning verdict on Tony Blair over Britain’s involvement in the Iraq war and the successor to David Cameron as Tory leader still to be decided (my predictions are that Theresa May will be our new prime minister and Michael Gove will come a close second), it feels a very uncertain and unsettling time in this country.

But we must still hold our heads high, unite instead of being divided and accept that whether we voted to ‘leave’ or ‘remain’ in the EU, our future has now been decided.

We all need to accept that it’s going to be a bit of a rough ride ahead – but it’s a future we should face together, as one country, like we always have.

HE’S GOT OTHER THINGS ON HIS MIND, BUT I’M STILL SURPRISED

I was surprised to hear the news that Chris Evans has quit Top Gear after just one series.

I know the show, which he’s been fronting with Friends star Matt Le Blanc, has had some pretty bad viewing figures compared to what Jeremy Clarkson and co used to pull in.

But Evans hasn’t been in the media industry as long as he has for being a quitter.

I know he’s got other things on his mind. Police have confirmed they are to question him about an alleged sexual assault in the 1990s. Meanwhile Channel Four bosses have also confirmed that they’re axing TFI Friday – the show Chris started 16 years ago which was brought back last year to a lukewarm reception.

But I’m still surprised he’s gone.

MY ADVICE TO TOM? DON’T GET TOO COMFORTABLE WITH TAYLOR

I’m getting sick of reading about Taylor Swift’s love life, but at the same time I can’t help it.

It’s like an endless guessing game of who she’s with now as various A-list stars pop in and out of her life.

This time it’s actor Tom Hiddleston, the ‘baddie’ in the Marvel film franchise Thor.

She only split from long-time boyfriend Calvin Harris recently and now her and Tom are frolicking around like they’re a married couple.

Did you see the pics of Taylor and Tom at her July 4 celebrations in Rhode Island? He wore a vest that had ‘I heart TS’ on it and a fake tattoo with her initials.

Perlease! What does Tom have that Calvin, Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal etc didn’t have? Time will tell I guess, but my advice to Tom is don’t get too comfortable!
