Poor old Pompey, even the twists in the tale have an added sting at the end.
Last week city MP Penny Mordaunt stood up in the Commons and, under the guise of talking about the Eastleigh by-election, said something really rather obscure about the Professional Footballers’ Association going back on its promises behind closed doors.
It came on a day when it was revealed Pompey’s day in court was postponed yet again, mainly so that the PFA could analyse the Pompey Supporters’ Trust’s new bid.
Seeing as that ‘new bid’ hasn’t been changed for a good while, you’d hope the PFA would be some way down the line in deciding whether it’ll support the bid or not. Either way, I hope we won’t be writing this week about yet another postponement.
