We need to be more adept at running our diaries and lives

Have your say

I was amazed to read the other day that some parents had received an invoice from some other parents for their five-year-old son’s non-attendance at a birthday party.

It must be pretty irking to spend out a lot of money and then not have a child turn up – especially on organised and costly activities (this one was about £16).

But honestly, how very un-British to complain, let alone demand the money and threaten to take the matter to the small claims court.

Who has the gall to do that? If such behaviour becomes the norm, how much more adept we’ll all have to become at running our diaries and lives.

Imagine being stood up on a date and the claims that you could make for that.An industry in the making, methinks.
