Why is it that the government is talking about the outrageous price hikes for families booking a break in school holidays like it’s something new?
All of us with children – and indeed those without – have been suffering from these astronomical increases since the package holiday was invented.
Solutions mooted have been no air taxes during school holidays or staggered holidays for schools – meaning the window of these price hikes will simply get bigger and bigger.
I know, why not let families take leave of up to 10 days a year during term-time if all is going well so that they can manage a holiday to fit in with all the pressures of work, prices and their children?
Oh, now I remember.
