Well done to our golden girls and all those at the Olympics

Have your say

How well are we doing in the Olympics?

I was so excited to hear about our first gold medal win on Wednesday – and even more excited when I learnt that the pair who won – Helen Glover and Heather Stanning, were from Reading. Not quite our neighbours, but still close enough to gloat!

They were the first-ever female rowers to win gold at the Olympics and I have to say I had a bit of a frog in my throat when I watched their reaction on TV as they realised they had come in first place.

Well done girls, you certainly made us all proud and let’s be honest, we’re not going to come first in the Olympics overall, but at least we can hold our heads up high and say we put on one hell of a show.

And yes, I think we did.
