What's wrong with eating pizza for breakfast in bed?

Last week Nigella Lawson revealed that she keeps an emergency stash of condiments, including soy sauce, tabasco and mustard in her bedside cabinet for snacking in bed.

I absolutely love this idea! I don’t eat in bed very often, but when I do it’s a real treat.

Think how much better it would be if I was fully prepared with a selection of condiments.

Jez thinks it’s totally gross, but it depends what you’re eating. Crumbs can be a big problem, but are removable.

You have to approach with caution when it comes to condiments, but provided some kind of tray is used I think they can only enhance the experience.

We don’t have a TV in our bedroom, so it’s not like we snuggle down at 5pm for the evening with dinner in bed. It’s strictly a breakfast-only activity.

But last weekend I admit I did polish off my Friday night pizza for breakfast in bed.

I don’t see anything wrong with this. It’s the comfiest place in my house, so why wouldn’t I want to eat there?

Jez: I was shocked to discover Nigella Lawson keeps various condiments inside her bedside cabinet.

Apparently sometimes she likes to tuck in to her favourite food whilst in bed.

I’m surprised that Nigella is acting in this slobbish way, as surely a bed is for one thing only.

Okay, maybe two things but let’s not go there!

I’ve never eaten a meal in bed. Surely the crumbs will go everywhere and you’ll end up staining your bedsheets when you drop food?

The only time I ever eat in bed is when I have the occasional digestive biscuit and even then they leave crumbs behind.

I’m a bit old-fashioned on this subject and believe that food should be consumed either in the kitchen or, if you have one, in a dining room.

My wife is hardcore on this subject and she bans us from eating dinner from a tray whilst on the sofa watching telly.

But I must admit I do bend this rule when it’s just me and the kids home alone.

Just don’t tell my wife.

Lou: I’ve found out that my kitten is a real brand snob

It turns out fussy pets is a real thing. This week I bought my kitten some posh cat food that was on offer and she point blank refused to eat it.

Normally she has supermarket own brand, which she happily munches, but I thought it would be a nice treat for her to have the posher stuff for a change.

It was such a good deal that I ended up buying four boxes, but she wouldn’t touch it!

Thankfully I have a friend with a far less fussy kitten who has taken it all off my hands.

But when I spoke about it on the show we had loads of people getting in touch about their fussy pets.

There were other cats who were brand snobs, but my all-time favourite has to be the husky who will only eat his food frozen!

Jez: What makes me happy? Living close to the beach

Oxford University professors reckon people who live within walking distance of their local pub are significantly happier than those who don’t.

Since 2005 I’ve always lived close to a pub, but I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve visited.

Going to the pub is so expensive. A pint is over £4, so I prefer to stay at home with a supermarket four-pack costing £5.

The thing that makes me happy is living 20 minutes from the beach.

In the summer we love cycling down to Meon Shore and then walking the dog along the beach towards Hill Head.

The other thing I love is having Locks Heath Shopping Village near my house, along with my dentist, hairdresser and garage.
