Why would you spend money on a card that goes in the bin?

RICK JACKSON: Girl power rules – at the age of two

Have your say

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker has designed a range of cards for Hallmark which will soon be on sale in the USA, but not over here.

The sceptic in me can’t help but wonder if this is the death-knell for card shops, trying to patch up a dying market with celebrity involvement.

After all, who sends cards any more?

The reality is they’re old-fashioned and have been replaced with e-mail, Facebook, Twitter and a myriad other social media.

Also, and maybe this is just me, they’re very expensive.

I prefer, if I’m going to use snail mail, to write a letter.

After paying for the postage, why would anyone want to splash out a couple of squid on a card that’ll end up in the bin anyway?
