Have your say

AS a church, we will be celebrating 275 years since John Wesley’s heart was warmed by holding some special events.

Our ‘Moving, with Wesley, in the Spirit’ celebration will pay tribute to John Wesley’s conversion.

There are many lessons we can take from his work.

As a church we are constantly trying to remind people what faith is all about and reach out to them.

We try different ways of approaching religion.

One of the new ways we are trying to encourage people is our exhibitions which will be held tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday.

For the first time, there will be various stations around the church that people can take a tour of.

People will be able to stop at each station and reflect.

At each point there will be different things to do, whether that is writing a note, saying a prayer or lighting a candle. Each station has the intention of prompting thought on how you can listen to God.

We took the idea off the internet and we really hope it will encourage people to come in and find out more about our church and John Wesley.

The date of the warming of his heart is one of the most important in the Methodist calendar.

There are many more messages we can take from his work.

Please visit our church, Fareham Methodist Church, tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday between 10am and 2pm to join in with our celebrations.

We will also be holding a service at 6.30pm on Sunday, May 26. Please come down and worship with us.

We welcome people over our doorstep and we are really pleased when they come in.
