Parents needed to volunteer in East Hampshire

Hill Head coastguard called to woman stuck in mud

Have your say

HAVE you ever thought that being a parent has given you the experience to help other families?

Then you could be one of the volunteers needed by Home Start Butser.

The charity, based in East Hampshire, helps families going through difficult times with practical and emotional support.

Last year volunteers supported 86 families and over 200 children through a critical time in their lives.

Situations can range from a new mum of twins needing a hand a couple of hours a week while she goes shopping or supporting a young family who have just moved to the area.

Petersfield Town Council and Horndean Parish Council have awarded the charity enough money to run a 10 week course to train new volunteers.

It runs from May 3 to July 5 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm at Winton House, Petersfield.
