LETTER OF THE DAY: Nightmare scenario for our city

Plans to introduce a new nursery in Park Gate have been deferred.

Councillors at a planning meeting of Fareham Borough Council will attend the site in Beacon Bottom to make a decision on an application to turn ground floor offices into a day nursery.

The plans would also involve building roof canopies over external play areas.

The nursery would accommodate up to 50 children.

But residents in the area have voiced concerns about noise, increased traffic congestion and parking.

Councillors will visit the site during the rush hour to make a final decision about the application.

Councillor Brian Bayford, said: 'It's an extremely congested area along there. Cars could be coming in at different times of the day.'
