BOTH sides of a section of the A3(M) were closed for around two hours for what police called ‘an incident.’

The northbound and southbound carriageways of the motorway near to junction 5 for Bedhampton was closed at around 11pm last night.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said that the force would not reveal details of the incident, but said it was not a road traffic collision.

Police announced at around 1am today that the road had reopened.
