FANS of BBC crime series Silent Witness will enjoy an unusual exhibition at Portsmouth University tomorrow.

Visitors will be able to explore the worlds of crime and forensics by wandering through a mock murder scene, and find out how investigators work with forensic biologists to piece together clues.

A forensic facial reconstruction team will show what marks on human skulls can reveal and experts will show how fingerprint evidence is used.

Professor Steve Savage said: ‘You’ve seen it on television but this is a unique opportunity to find out what goes on behind the scenes of a genuine criminal investigation. This will be a family day out with a twist and we hope that as many people as possible will come and join us.’

The event will be in the Dennis Sciama Building from 10am to 4pm.
