A GROUP of people who are blind or partially-sighted have been given the chance to socialise through football.

Charity Losing My Sight has partnered with the Hampshire FA to put on weekly sessions for people across Portsmouth.

Chairman of Losing My Sight Dave Taylor said: ‘Football has both a health and team-building aspect to it.

‘It also provides the visually-impaired and blind community a chance to come together as a team.’

The sessions are run weekly at Fratton Community Centre.

Dave Daniels also help to set up the sessions.

He said: ‘We had a fairly good response from a selection of visually impaired and blind people of all ages and genders.

‘It also provided an opportunity to try something new as many had never played either blind or partially sighted football before.’
