The owners are looking to keep the number of physical searchers to a minimum, but Denmead Drone Search and Rescue has also joined the search.

Posting on Facebook, Denmead Drone Search and Rescue said: ‘If you do spot Meeko while out and about completely ignore him, it is vital he is not chased or attempted to be caught as we need him to stay within the area.

‘Take a screenshot of your location on your mobile phone – coordinates would be really helpful or use the app What3Words. Report your sighting to ourselves with as much information as possible.

‘Meeko is incredibly nervous so it is vital he is not chased or attempted to be caught.’

Also in the search is dog walker Nikki Roberts.

She said: ‘We’ve recently had a sighting so are checking out the surrounding area.

‘Somebody got in touch to say they saw him so we’ve got our fingers crossed.’
