A CONFERENCE has been held to discuss loss and bereavement.

The meeting, at Portsmouth Academy for Girls, was organised by The Bereavement Centre and Solent NHS Trust, and supported by Co-op Funeral Care.

It brought together 200 practitioners who discussed everything from the Samaritans’ 24/7 listening service, understanding dementia and supporting children through bereavement.

Councillor Frank Jonas, the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, said: ‘As we all get older, bereavement is something we’re more likely to experience.’
