REBECCA Sampson has turned to real life for inspiration for her first published book.

The 45-year-old single mum of four, from Purbrook, has had her novella, My Life and Other Accidents, published in America and it is now available over here.

She said: ‘It is a comedy based on a woman called Harriet who comes from an upper-middle class environment, loses everything, and ends up in the rough end of town on the dole.

‘Getting published is so difficult because so many unsolicited manuscripts are sent to publishers.

‘That’s why I’m so proud that my novella is out. I have an historical novel called My Lady Liberty out next year, based on the Statue of Liberty.’

My Life and Other Accidents is available online at or through Barnes and Noble, in London.
