Brian Conley is fast becoming part of Christmas tradition at the Mayflower. And on this showing, long may that continue.
After his success in last year’s Robinson Crusoe at the Southampton theatre, the all-round entertainer is back in Cinderella, providing everything you need from the quintessential British panto.
There is notable support from Gok Wan as the Fairy Gokmother (get it?)and Lauren Hall in the title role, but the main draw is undoubtedly Conley with his one-liners, audience interaction and right blend of innuendo.
There’s plenty more to keep all ages entertained, including a flying carriage and heart-warming sketch with Charlie the horse.
Sian Mills, nine, from Titchfield, watched the show last night. She said: ‘It was lots of fun. I loved the special effects. It was my best panto yet.’
