YOUNGSTERS enjoyed splashing around in a bubbly waterslide at the Stamshaw Playground Play Festival.
The water feature was only one of the attractions at the event.
There were chefs doing live demonstrations, arts and craft workshops, jousting and fancy dress at the playpark in Western Terrace, Stamshaw.
Families joined forces to play large team games at the festival, from rounders and cricket, to a football tournament.
Over 350 people turned up to join in the fun.
Gareth Barnaby, one of the playground’s play workers, said: ‘Everyone loved it. They were having a great time trying out the activities and there was a great atmosphere.
‘The water slide was especially popular.
‘We were lucky that the weather held out for it.’
Stamshaw Playground’s site leader Tim Head added: ‘Play is such an important aspect of children’s lives.
‘We want to make up for the lack of play areas in the city and give them somewhere interesting they can go to play and enjoy themselves.’
