A nurse at QA is organising a cabaret night to raise money for prostate cancer.

The jam-packed programme will include cabaret, burlesque, magic, male and female drag and live music.

The event takes place at The Lanyard in North End, Portsmouth, on Friday, November 27 from 8pm.

Local businesses are being encouraged to help with raffle prize donations.

Organiser Madaleine Soleil said: ‘This event is particularly important to me, as I am a local promoter and performer, but also in my day job I am a urology nurse at QA hospital, and have nursed many patients with prostate cancer.

‘This was a way to bring both of my passions together and also do something for a family member of mine who is currently living with prostate cancer.

‘I’d like to encourage gentlemen that have been growing a moustache for Movember to enter our moustache contest on the evening and win a prize.’
